International Mixed Ability Sports Director Mark Goodwin clinched a major award this week at the National Learning Disability and Autism Awards.
The ‘Sporting Chance Award’ was presented for the work done by Mark both in the classroom as a WEA Tutor and on the pitch as a player/manager for the Bumbles. After the award ceremony at the ICC in Birmingham Mark said, “Most tutors never dream their learners will set up a Mixed Ability Rugby team, involve the sport’s national governing body and begin training rugby grassroots rugby clubs how to be inclusive. I’d like to thank the WEA and the RFU for their support but most of all the lads who are involved in every aspect of expanding the Mixed Ability Rugby model across England.”
